Ali Behdad
English and Comparative Literature divider

Ali Behdad is Professor of English and Comparative Literature, and John Charles Hillis Endowed Chair in Literature at UCLA. He is currently serving as the Director of the Center for Near Eastern Studies. He has also served as the Chair of English Department (2010-2016) and the Chair of Comparative Literature Department (2005-2010). He has published widely on travel literature, photography of the Middle East, and Orientalism. His books include Belated Travelers (Duke U. Press, 1994), A Forgetful Nation (Duke U. Press, 2005), and Camera Orientalis (U. of Chicago Press, 2016).
