Biography
Alicia Anagnostou is a sociologist, creative nonfiction writer, serves as vice president of Client Loyalty and Retention for a Fortune 500 company and is the founder of First Edition Coaching, a values-based leadership organization. With more than 20 years of experience in corporate leadership, she has coached and mentored both emerging and established leaders in a wide array of industries. She believes in the importance of giving a voice to one’s core values through thoughtful word choice, purposeful messaging and the sharing of powerful life stories. She is a two-time graduate of UCLA with a degree in sociology and a certificate in creative nonfiction writing. She lives in the Bay Area with her two teenage daughters and Rottweiler, Evie.

Biography:

Paula Amezola is creator and founder of First Gen Legacy (FGL) an equity education service committed to providing first-generation students with the tools for successful

careers and generational wealth. Having navigated the challenges of migration,financial struggles and language barriers, Amezola earned her bachelor’s in genetics from UC Davis and a Master of Public Health in epidemiology from UCLA.

With over two decades in public health, Amezola has focused on diversity, equity,inclusion, advocating empathy and cultural humility. As the former founder of public health career services at the Keck School of Medicine, she has extensive experience in program development and career coaching. Amezola was elected to the CCUSD School Board of Education in 2020 as the first Spanish-speaking Latina. She addresses equity issues for English learners, low-income and unhoused students. This role introduced her to a financial literacy teacher community, aligning with her vision of equipping students with crucial life skills.

In 2023, she had the honor of serving as the president of the CCUSD School Board, playing a pivotal role in creating the first school board handbook. Her priorities included

enhancing the student environment, leading initiatives such as mental health programs, environmental sustainability efforts and the CCUSD CARES program.
